The learning progression and the ability to 'crew' during a complete fortnightly course (e.g. D1D2) are unmatched by the two single weeks (example:. D1 and D2).
The fundamental difference is that in two consecutive weeks you learn more than twice as much as in one week ... and between us you have three times as much fun!
That is why we recommend a full fortnightly course. Especially in the case of initiation courses. If you sign up for a weekly course, you can also stay on, if there is space available, and pay only the difference in price.
Yes, but as we cannot guarantee that you will find instructors who know your language, we recommend that you only sign up if you can speak and understand at least the basics of Italian.
We advise all those who do not speak Italian to consult the CVC secretariat for updates on the dates of specific courses held in English.
We also have this special course entirely held in English: yacht-beginner
No, unless otherwise specified, passage to the next course is conditional on suitability.
However, it is possible to extend one's stay at CVC and take a higher level course if promoted at the end of the lower level course (we cannot hold an option in advance).
Yes, it is possible for some courses.
To find out in advance which course you could enrol in based on your experience, you can fill in the Application for Direct Admission. The Secretariat will recommend the most suitable course.
There is a minimum age (ranging from 15 to 18 years) for each course, but no maximum age.
In June and July there are a few rounds reserved for 12-14 year olds. All courses can be attended by people of all ages, with just one recommendation: to exploit the teaching potential of a sailing course (and have fun), it is advisable to be in good physical shape, and this is quite important for dinghy courses.
You will find all the information in the detailed information sheets for each course.
The CVC is organized to follow the diet of people with celiac disease or severe food allergies (reported to the Secretariat before the start of the course).
In the case of food preferences, on the other hand, there may not be a dedicated meal, but one may choose the food genre, from those available, compatible with the intolerance as long as it is promptly reported and documented at the time of registration.
