This year the focus shifts decisively towards the discovery and protection of the environment: a week of navigation in which you can be the protagonists of observations and data collection that, thanks to a protocol defined in agreement with the National Park of La Maddalena and with the substantial contribution of SEAME Sardinia and One Ocean Foundation and the sponsorship of Synergie Italia, will be able to flow into the activities of the National Park of La Maddalena.
"We have embraced this partnership with Centro Velico Caprera with great enthusiasm," explains Park President Fabrizio Fonnesu. The hope is that this union can contribute significantly to spreading a greater awareness of the risks to which this area is subjected and that the data collected by the students under the supervision of a professional biologist can help to provide useful information for developing even more effective safeguard systems".
Between monitoring the quality of the water (e.g. to quantify the presence of microplastics, alien species or other threats to the ecosystem of the Parks) and lessons given by the scientific staff on board, the students will be transformed for a week into active players in the discovery and protection of this incredible stretch of sea.
The navigation perimeters have also changed and this year they have been freed from specific itineraries: you will be sailing in an area between Portisco and the Strait of Bonifacio and it will be the unquestionable judgement of the CVC boatmaster to determine the route of the Oceanis 411 on which you will sail in relation to the weather and sea conditions.
