On behalf of the Board of Directors and the entire community of CVC instructors, students and employees, I express deep condolences and affectionate sympathy to Paolo's family.
My thoughts also go out to the board of the Naval League Milan section, of which Paolo was currently vice president.
Paul has given so much to CVC.
A true example in Caprera and outside Caprera of Caprera's passion, dedication, and solidarity.
During his presidency he ferried CVC to the 50-year milestone. Author of a new vision that led to a strong consolidation of CVC's positioning and subsequent transformation into a foundation.
Determined and with great listening skills.
Of great sensitivity and rare empathy.
A true sailor, who was able to pass on the values of Italian seamanship, the art of going to sea, the passion for sailing and the spirit of Caprera to a great many students and instructors of different generations.
It has been a true honor to have you on the crew. I am sure you will continue to smile and sail with us from up there.
Hi Papa Mike. Good wind
Paolo would have liked to leave a vivid trace of his journey at Centro Velico Caprera.
That is why we have decided to organize a sail on September 1 with departure and arrival in Porto Palma: "Sailing for Life - Paolo Martano Trophy" will be the way to remember Paolo's commitment on the many fronts in which CVC plays a leading role in solidarity towards people. Details will be announced in the coming days and it will be possible to join the Foundation's initiatives entirely dedicated to social projects.
For those who would like to leave a memory, testimony or recount an incident that brings them close to Paul, the Facebook Group "hello Paul" has been opened
