While we wait to get back to real sailing, Il Giornale della Vela and TAG Heuer are launching a very contemporary event. A virtual regatta across the Mediterranean using Virtual Regatta technology (don't pretend you don't know what we're talking about...) and kicking off on 15 May.
Registrations are already open and for all service information we refer you to the official pages of the event that you will find AT THIS LINK.
Of course, a virtual regatta can never replace the sensations of real sailing, but this video game is really well made and we believe that to some extent it can really serve as a training tool. If you'd like to get an idea of what we mean by this, play the tutorial below.
CVC is a partner of the event
Since we are not closed to novelty and the game reminds us a bit of the virtual board of our Cup Lessons, we have accepted with enthusiasm the invitation of our friends of the Giornale della Vela to become partners of the event. And to entice all the people of Capri to take part, we thought of offering the first classified a 50% discount on a session of their choice of the Altura C5 course.
This is a small incentive in addition to the rich prizes of the competition. But since this is a high-level, itinerant course, the winner (unless they already meet the entry requirements) will be put in touch with a CVC instructor who will check their actual sailing skills; if they are not good enough for a C5 the discount will be 'diverted' to a C3 course, CVC's gateway to cruising on the ultra-performance First 27.
So what can we say? Sign up and hold high (even virtually) the colours of Caprera!
